Program Manager


RNRF seeks a Program Manager to work with its staff and volunteer committees to develop and implement public policy programs in environmental science, design and management. The position is an exciting opportunity for a resourceful person who wishes to work on current national and international issues.

The Program Manager serves as one of three principal staff professionals for developing, planning, and implementing approved programs:
* Annual conference of approximately 100-200 invited delegates meeting in Washington, DC. Program development, speaker selection and site selection are part of the process. A report of the conference is prepared by staff and widely distributed.
* Meetings with DC-based public policy leaders with government, domestic and international NGOs, embassies, and the private sector.
* Congressional forums
* Awards program for individuals, projects and publications
* Renewable Resources Journal. Requires article selection, writing and editing.
* Website and blog
* New programs development

Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree (M.S./M.A. or J.D.) is a plus. Prior experience is not required but is a plus. Education/experience/interest in natural resources, environmental science, land-use planning and design, water management, climate science, public policy, etc. are sought. Excellent communication skills are a must.

Reports to the Executive Director, and works out of the foundation’s offices in North Bethesda, Maryland (White Flint Metro). Salary range: $40,000 - $55,000 – depending upon education and experience. Benefits include annual/sick leave, health insurance, and retirement benefits.

Position Announcement

Program Intern

RNRF seeks an intern to work with its staff to assist in the development and implementation of programs. The full-time summer position is available immediately. The position is an exciting opportunity for a student or recent graduate who wishes to work on current national issues.

The intern will assist and Executive Director and Program Directors in the following activities:
* Development of content for RNRF's website
* Assist with editorial production of Renewable Resources Journal
* Planning and development of RNRF's 2017 Conference on Contemporary Issues in Forest and Wildland Management and Conservation
* Planning and development of RNRF's Washington Round Table on Public Policy, and other meetings

Candidates must be students or recent graduates with education/experience/interest in natural resources, environmental science, land-use planning and design, water management, climate science and/or public policy. Excellent communication skills are a must.

Reports to the Executive Director, and works out of the foundation’s offices in North Bethesda, Maryland (White Flint Metro). The internship pays at the rate of $1,500/mo.
