
Purposes
The Renewable
Natural Resources Foundation (RNRF) — a consortium of professional,
scientific and educational organizations — advances
sciences
and
public
education
in
renewable
natural resources; promotes the application of
sound, scientific practices in managing and conserving renewable
natural resources; fosters cooperation among professional, scientific
and educational organizations having leadership responsibilities for
renewable natural resources; and provides services for its members at a
common site.
RNRF was incorporated in Washington, D.C., in
1972,
as a nonprofit, public,
tax-exempt organization described in the Internal Revenue Code §501(c)(3). Contributions to
the foundation are tax
deductible to the extent permitted by federal law.
Programs
RNRF conducts
national conferences, congressional forums, public-policy briefings and
round
tables, international outreach activities, and a national awards
program.
Renewable
Resources
Journal
The quarterly
journal features articles on public policy related to renewable natural
resources. It also includes news from member organizations, general
announcements, meeting notices, and international conservation news.
Members
RNRF's members
have
among their primary purposes, the advancement of sciences and public
education
in renewable natural resources and/or the application of scientific
knowledge to the management of renewable natural resources. The
foundation is governed by a board of directors comprised of a
representative from each of its member organizations. Directors also
may elect "public interest members" of the board.

become

Renewable
Natural Resources Center
The Renewable Natural Resources Center is an
office complex and environmental center for RNRF's member
organizations, nonprofit organizations, and
government and quasi-governmental entities. The Center is located on a
35-acre site in Bethesda, Maryland.
